Flair, Lynch and Ronda Rousey went head-to-head in the groundbreaking main event of Sunday’s showpiece occasion in New Jersey.
The match was the first time WrestleMania had been headlined by an all-women’s scrap – and fans were not left disappointed.
Lynch came out on top at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, becoming both the RAW and SmackDown Women’s Champion in the process.
Rather than fire a shot at Lynch in the wake of hers and Rousey’s defeat, Flair hailed the women who paved the way for Sunday night’s match.
“Attention, opportunity, trust, and RESPECT,” Flair wrote on Twitter, alongside an image of a legion of female wrestlers.
“We dreamed of it. We worked for it. We deserve it. Thank you to all female Superstars then, now, and in the future who made tonight possible. #Evolution #WrestleMania.”
Charlotte Flair’s tweet went down well with wrestling fans delighted to see women headline WrestleMania.
“You were incredible we are all so proud thank you for everything you’ve done to make this possible,” wrote one.
“Y’all did amazing!! It happened! THE WOMEN WAS THE MAIN EVENT OF WRESTLEMANIA!” said another.
A third added: “Congrats Charlotte for main eventing this year wrestle mania with your former best friend Becky and Ronda.. Well done!”
A fourth comment read: “Thank YOU and all of the hard working women!”
Another fan said: “The women of the main event was freaking awesome. Wished you would have won.”
Flair, who was left bloodied in the WrestleMania fight, is a nine-time WWE champion.
And she will be desperate to reclaim a belt as soon as the next opportunity to do so arises.
Rousey, likewise, will be eager to assert herself on the wrestling scene once again.
The UFC legend had held the RAW belt for eight months prior to losing to Lynch.
