THIS Christmas-mad gran has spent four months hanging her enormous bauble collection – which costs £14,000.
Sylvia Pope, 77, has amassed 2,700 ornaments over the past 20 years.

She said: “I absolutely love Christmas and my grandchildren’s faces light up when they see all the baubles. It really is magical for them.
“I love setting up my baubles up all over the house. I won’t let anyone else help in case of breakages – even though it gets a little harder each year.
“It’s my own little hobby and I love it when all the baubles are up on the ceiling. They look wonderful and people do a double take when they see them.”
The gran-of-10 has travelled all over the world collecting Christmas gems – which range between £20 and £85 in price.

Each year, she spends over £100 adding to the collection for her festive living room – which also has red walls and rugs.
She starts assembling the baubles in September and leaves them hanging until March, before taking them down and starting the process all over again.
Sylvia said: “The ceiling is full of tiny holes when I take them down so its need re-plastering and painting. Some people have asked me why I don’t leave them up all year.
Some people think it is over the top and tacky but when they see it for real it’s completely different
“One year I didn’t have the energy to take them all down and re-plaster and paint the ceiling all over again, so I left all the baubles hanging up for the whole year.
“I honestly loved it really and at least it meant I didn’t have to spend all those hours putting them up again the following Christmas.
“I felt really at home with my decorations up all year. Some people laughed that I had Christmas baubles all over the house in June and July but I didn’t mind.
This Diamond Jubilee bauble is one of Sylvia’s most valuable – costing £100[/caption]
“Some people think it is over the top and tacky but when they see it for real it’s completely different. Most people love them and think they look fabulous.
“The expensive ones get special treatment and I double wrap them and put then in an extra safe place when they are not on the ceiling.
“I really can’t pick a favourite one – I love so many of them. They are all very special in their own way. My family all try to get me really lovely ones and then would be fuming if I singled one out.
“I do have a very special bauble – ER one to commemorate the Queen of England’s Diamond Jubilee. It cost just under £100 and only so many were made so it’s rare.”
Sylvia’s house is only bauble-free for six months of the year[/caption]
Sylvia has a red London bus, a New York Taxi, can of Coke, a bauble the shape of a watch, aeroplanes, helicopters, ice-creams and an old fashioned telephone bauble.
She also collects decorations she thinks her grandkids would like – including Mary Poppins, Captain Hook, Peter Pan and Tinkerbell.
Sylvia said: “I have collected them from all over the world – Holland, Malta, New York, Prague, Las Vegas and the Cayman Islands.
“I’ve got all the Seven Dwarfs from Snow White. I’ve got a cupcake with Father Christmas on top along with the wolf from Red Riding Hood.

“I’ve bought some from Harrods in London and I was overwhelmed by the collection of Christmas baubles in Macy’s in New York, it was like I was in heaven.
“I bought at least 20 or 30 baubles and I had to buy another bag to bring them home.
“My favourite Christmas film is Miracle on 34th Street but I haven’t managed to find a bauble for that film yet.”
