Coronation Street local Roy Cropper (played by David Neilson) has been wracking his brain in recent weeks as he attempts to figure out where a mysterious ring came from.
The piece of jewellery was inherited from his late mother Sylvia, and has since sparked rumours about Roy having a long-lost sister.
Last month on the show Roy discovered the ring’s inscription, which read: “R.P 01.03.59 Rhea,” and therefore prompted more mystery.
However upcoming episodes may shed some light on the strange situation, as Roy comes into contact with Wayne Hayes (Gary Damer), the young boy he once fostered.
Now a health and safety inspector, Wayne vows to help Roy to discover the truth behind the trinket.
And Wayne keeps his word, as he figures out the one ring originates from Egypt, making the situation even more confusing.
Overhearing this, Brian Packham (Peter Gunn) suggests the ring could have been brought into England by a serviceman who was once stationed in the country.
Although this doesn’t really factor in to the widely accepted “long lost sister” theory, at least Roy is a little closer to finding out the truth behind the precious ring.
Could Brian’s comment to Roy taking a short break from Weatherfield to find out the truth behind the ring?
Meanwhile Wayne will stick around in Weatherfield as he begins to look into the tragic Underworld factory collapse.
However his prying into the event makes a lot of residents a little nervous.
Carla Connor (Alison King) is one of these residents who isn’t sure about Wayne – but what could she have to hide?
Soap expert Sharon Marshall recently spoke out about the soap on This Morning, where she hinted Rana (Bhavna Limbachia) may not go through with the wedding.
She explained: “Now we saw that Rana had got the bracelet off her mum. I can say that there is a phone call that is made during the wedding.
“Is it family she’s going with or is it love? She’s marrying the right person but is it the wrong time?”
This seems to be a continuing theme, as Kate star Faye recently appeared on Lorraine and revealed: “That piece of jewellery is from Rana’s mum.
“And we remember Rana had to deal with facing her family and telling the truth about how she feels, and how she loves Kate, and this is the life that she wants to live.
“I feel like the jewellery is a peace offering, and for Rana maybe she’s second guessing if it’s the right time for us to get married.”
But will the two wed before a classic Corrie tragedy befalls one of them?
Coronation Street continues tonight at 7.30pm on ITV.
