Fans were left shocked at the irony[/caption]

She said she was thankful for her followers[/caption]

Over Thanksgiving, Demi shared a series of pictures where she was holding and cuddling some turkeys that had been rescued from inhumane conditions.

However, fans found it very ironic that the 28-year-old would boast about her love for turkeys moments before she dined on one for Thanksgiving dinner.

One fan poked fun at the irony and wrote on Twitter: “TODAY IN CRINGE: Demi Lovato poses with turkey in photo promoting animal sanctuary that fights animal agriculture. Demi later makes turkey for Thanksgiving.”

A second one tweeted: “I love you @ddlovato and I’m proud of your journey ..but this has really bothered me. Was it THAT turkey?! Who just longed to live?!”

A third one shared: “Demi lovato murdered a turkey in a Burberry button up.”

A fourth fan said they were “spiralling,” saying: “Demi Lovato adopting a turkey to cook it anyway has sent me.”

And a fifth one wrote: “Demi Lovato at an animal sanctuary holding a turkey. Then proceeds to cook a turkey.”

Demi has been seemingly getting her life back in order after her messy breakup from Max.

The couple had gotten engaged just two months after they began dating but quickly spiraled into disaster after it was revealed that Max only wanted to use Demi for status.

She even joked about it as she hosted the People’s Choice Awards this year, saying: “Honestly this year has been the longest three years of my life. Don’t get me wrong, it started out amazing. I performed at the Grammy’s and sung the national anthem at the Super Bowl.

“But then Covid hit, and everything shut down. So I did what everyone else did. I went into lockdown mode and got engaged. I got into painting, photography, meditation, tested the limits of Postmates unlimited. I also didn’t know this could happen, but I reached the end of Instagram four times.

“I binged seven seasons of Pretty Little Liars, got un-engaged, and then I went looking for aliens in the desert. So basically the same as everyone else.”
