DUNCAN James has a successful career, a teenage daughter and a happy relationship – but there’s one thing he’s still desperate to do.

The Blue singer, 42, would love nothing more than walking his mum Fiona, 64, down the aisle to marry the man of her dreams.

Speaking exclusively to The Sun, he said: “She’s been on her own for so long, and my biggest wish, more than anything, is for my mum to meet a really nice man and to find happiness and fall in love.

“Because I know desperately that’s all she’s ever wanted, but it’s difficult I guess. She’s been quite unlucky in love throughout her life, and she’s just never found that right guy.

“I’d love to walk her down the aisle and see her get married. I just pray and hope she gets that opportunity. That would be everything for me.”

Fiona appeared on Channel 4’s First Dates Hotel earlier this year and stunned viewers when she revealed her famous son’s identity.

Despite hitting it off with naval officer Eric, 61, he wasn’t the one for her, and Fiona is still searching for Mr Right.

Duncan said: “I was hoping first dates might be the show she meets someone really nice, but it didn’t happen.”

When it comes to his own love life, the former Hollyoaks star is in a good place with his boyfriend Rodrigo Reis, despite coronavirus pandemic keeping them apart.

The couple, who have been together for two years, were separated for four months during the first lockdown, with Rodrigo stuck in Brussels and Duncan here in England.

“That was really, really tough,” Duncan said. “There was no way he could come here, or I could go there, because it wasn’t essential travel.

“It was really scary all these people dying. I knew a couple of people that had lost people from it.

“It was like ‘wow, I guess I’ll see you when this all passes.”

When they were finally reunited in the summer, they travelled to the south of Italy for a long overdue catch up.

Rodrigo then joined Duncan in England for a month, with the prospect of more time apart too much to bear.

Work then called and Rodrigo had to return to Belgium, but Duncan is hopeful they can reunite over Christmas.

The extended period at home through the pandemic has had some perks for Duncan.

He was able to spend more time with his mum and his daughter Tianie-Finn, 15, than ever before.

The teen ballerina spent the six-week summer holiday with her dad for the first time ever, which Duncan described as “lovely”.

He is now relishing returning to work in the Christmas Cabaret All Stars show at London’s Proud Embankment.

After a successful summer run, the show is returning for the festive period with new faces Duncan and Rachel Stevens joining Denise Van Outen.

The trio will take it in turns headlining the stage surrounded by burlesque dancers and circus entertainers, while guests will be able to indulge themselves with first class food and drink.

Speaking about the first time he watched the show, Duncan said: “I was just blown away. There’s so much entertainment and variety going on. It’s just wonderful to see a venue in London’s West End still being able to get performers to perform. There’s some really great acts.

“The audience loves it, and what a fun place to come to work. I just want to get on the stage and perform. It’s what I love.”

Tickets are now on sale for Tuesday – Saturday nights in December 2020 and can be booked online at www.proudcabaret.com, or by calling the Proud sales team on: 0207 482 3867
