I’M A Celebrity’s security has been called into question after a superfan managed to “film contestants” from outside the Gwrych Castle walls.

Two nosy lads climbed up a tree and managed to film one of the celebrities walking through the castle grounds.

They shared the video on TikTok and typed over the clip: “We heard I’m A Celebrity was better in person … we went.”

In the video, posted by @babangrist, a man is heard saying: “Oh my God that’s thingy! I recognise her.”

A second TikTok account, @charl.dykes, shared the clip and captioned it: “I’m a Celebrity 2020. The Castle. I challenge anyone to get a better vantage point than this.”

Makers of the video, Charles Dykes and Alex Hicks, insisted they hadn’t breached the walls of the castle but used their local knowledge to find the best vantage point to see inside.

Charles told MailOnline: “We did not trespass at all. We know the area quite well and often walk around there.

“There are fences everywhere and private land signs, but from where we filmed there wasn’t anything to stop us. We were on public areas.

“I was amazed that we could get so close I couldn’t believe that we saw two of the stars. I feel that we’ve done I’m a celebrity a favour.

“We’ve shown them a spot where people can see part of the show, right over the fire pit and close to where people go to the toilet.

“I expect they will have a good look at the spot which is on the southern side of the castle.’

An ITV spokeswoman told the publication: “These trespassers were quickly spotted and safely escorted off site.”

Last year ITV bosses were forced to review their security arrangements after The Sun were offered access to the jungle set by an ex-employee.

The disgruntled former staffer, who came forward to expose “lapses” in the show’s ring of steel, said they could get us within 100 metres of this series’ stars.

The Sun declined their offer to enter camp, before informing ITV of the potential for a breach.

This year, I’m A Celebrity has hired 40 security guards and roads surrounding Gwrych Castle.

A legion of former special forces troops have been deployed in Abergele, North Wales, and are supposed to stop intruders snooping at the Welsh castle.

The security firm hired by ITV bosses has enlisted former Royal Marines and special forces soldiers.
