Katie told her fans “accidents do happen” after reading about Harry Redknapp’s dogs Lulu and Barney, who were forced to have their stomach’s pumped after eating life-threatening Christmas cake.

Sharing the story from The Sun, the reality star wrote over the article: “I know how he feels accidents do happen such a sad situation”.

This comes after the star was left “devastated” by an online petition that called for her to be banned from owning pets for life.

Reps for Katie told The Sun that she is “aware” of the petition circulating, and it is “incorrect” to say she doesn’t love her animals.

“Katie is aware of this petition,” her spokesperson said.

“It comes as a devastating blow as it is wholly biased, based on hearsay not actual fact.

“Katie loves her animals and to say otherwise is incorrect, unjust and unkind. It couldn’t be further from the truth.”

The petition was launched after the death of her French bulldog puppy Rolo in July.

The dog was a gift for Princess, 13, and was found dead by son Harvey’s carer.

“A puppy has died in the last 24 hours in Katie Price’s care, she bought this puppy for her 13-year-old child 3 weeks ago,” it read.

“In the last 5 years more animals have died from lack of care. Horses, dogs, cats, lizards, hedgehogs. This isn’t a single family tragedy. It’s a common thing in Katie Price’s home.”

It continued: “Two dogs have been ran over. Puppies were found dead drowning in a neglected swimming pool. A horse was run over on a motorway. Animals just go missing in her home never to be seen again.

“Her guard dog broke into her neighbours garden and killed their chickens. A dog trained to attack people also ripped her cat apart.”

Animal rights group PETA has also said Katie should be stopped from owning any more pets.

The petitioner, Jennifer Hewitt, went on to claim that there was “neglect” seen on her show My Crazy Life.

“Cat poo with mould growing on it. Dog poo just left on the floor. Clothes dumped all over the place. Algae growing in her pool where her puppy drowned. She jokes about her mucky mansion. But it ain’t a joke that animals are dying from her lack of care,” Jennifer wrote.

Katie’s ex Kieran has also claimed that her home stinks of wee because her cats “p***ed everywhere” to mark their territory, including on his clothes.

The death of Rolo came five months after another of the family’s dogs, Alsatian Sparkle, was killed running into a busy road.

Mum-of-five Katie also has an Alsatian called Blade, who works as a protection dog and sleeps in the star’s room.

Another dog, Queenie, died in tragic circumstances in 2018, when she was struck by a delivery driver.

Katie has five children, of whom Princess is the third eldest. She also has 15-year-old Junior with Peter Andre, and Harvey, 18, her child with Dwight Yorke.

She shares son Jett, six, and daughter Bunny, five, with estranged husband Kieran.
