The BBC’s Laura Kuenssberg tweeted: “Calls to shadow ministers about who is staying in post and who is getting the heave ho or moved have started after hours of wrangling over Angela Rayner’s position. Sources confirm Annelise Dodds the Shadow Chancellor is being demoted to become Party Chair.” She then added: “Nick Brown the highly experienced Chief Whip is also out – a spox says ‘Nick thinks it’s a reasonable time for Nick to move on. He and Keir have parted on good terms, with mutual respect. He wishes Keir and the new Chief Whip every success.’
