From food to clothing and gifts, Britons can pick up lots of Christmas essentials at Marks & Spencer.

With most M&S stores open again, the retailer has introduced a new scheme in the run up to Christmas.

It has introduced the ‘Sparks 12 Days of Giveaways’ to give shoppers the chance to save.

The daily giveaway will result in a total of 7,500 winners in the next couple of weeks.

One shopper will be randomly selected to win their basket for free in each store every day.

A further 50 customers will win their shopping each day when ordering online.

The Christmas offering follows a revamp of the Sparks loyalty scheme that came into place earlier this year.

Since July, one Sparks customer in store and online has won their basket for free each week.

DON’T MISS

The Sparks loyalty scheme was launched on July 9 and included many updated deals.

As well instant rewards, those who sign up for Sparks get tailored personal offers.

Customers are also treated to small thank yous like packs of Percy Pigs and candles.

Those who shop at M&S can download a Sparks card virtually on the app.

As well as offering a festive rewards scheme, the retail giant has updated shopping rules as many branches reopen in England.

It has installed a robust cleaning process and shoppers are encouraged to observe social distancing rules.

Hand sanitising stations have been put in place and signs are in stores to remind shoppers of the rules.

M&S has also introduced its Mobile Pay Go, which allows contactless payment through the app.

When visiting stores, shoppers have the option to shop completely contact free.

They can skip the checkouts completely by scanning as they shop and paying via the app.

M&S Retail operations and property director Sacha Berendji said: “Our store teams have been incredible throughout this time, and this Christmas season they’re stepping up again to keep everyone safe, and to help keep Christmas special.

“After this year, we know customers want to deliver the magic for their loved ones – from the food they love to the perfect thoughtful gift – so we want to play our part to make shopping easier.

“This Christmas, in addition to our extensive hygiene measures, we’re offering our longest-ever opening hours and important new services like ‘Sparks Book and Shop’, whilst still delivering the festive feeling and inspiration customers are after in our shops.”
