Met Office weather maps show parts of the UK have already had a soggy start to the week, with rain charts showing swathes of the UK seeing some form of drizzle today.

The map below shows the eastern coastline of England along with parts of the north and Scotland are seeing the brunt of the rain so far this morning.

Later into the day and the showers will become confined to northern and western Scotland, the forecast said.

The Met Office adds: “Clear spells elsewhere, and turning cold for at time with frost across some central parts.

“Becoming milder in the south as rain moves northwards, reaching much of England and Wales by dawn.”
