Prince Charles warns pandemic ‘won’t be the last one’
Prince Charles provoked the anger of some Meghan and Harry’s fans, many of whom identify themselves as members of the “Sussex Squad”, after he launched his fresh charge against the climate crisis. The Prince of Wales spoke extensively about Terra Carta during a rare interview with US broadcaster CNN.
During the lengthy chat, Prince Charles explained his new initiatives aims at the protection of the world’s natural resources and accelerate the transition to a greener future.
This charter is aimed in particular at the private sector, urging businesses to put sustainability at the forefront of their minds.
Its statement of intent contains nearly 100 steps that businesses can take, including a commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050 or sooner and protecting natural ecosystems.
The Prince of Wales has been speaking about the protection of the environment and climate change for decades.

Last year, he recalled being considered “rather dotty” more than 50 years ago, when he first warned about plastic pollution and the destruction of natural habitats.
However, some fans of the Sussexes accused the Prince of Wales of “copying” Meghan and Prince Harry’s recent calls to tackle climate change.
One wrote on Twitter: “Copying from Harry and Meghan again they are out of date boring dull and pathetic and they copy because they have no originality they are sad and pathetic.”
Another Twitter user, which pledges to provide news and commentary on Meghan, Harry, Archewell and initiatives linked to them, said: “Sounds a lot like what Harry has been saying but was called woke for.

“Also LOL at them doing interviews with US networks now. Guess Britain is getting a bit too small these days…”
A third Sussexes fan replied to this comment saying: “They are so pathetic.
“It’s so obvious they are not relevant or global and wants H & M popularity.”
The heir to the throne likely chose to illustrate his latest environmental initiative to an international broadcaster to widen as much as possible the reach of his message.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry called for people to reduce their environmental footprints in 2019
Since he launched the Sustainability Markets Initiative in early 2020, the Prince of Wales has been adamant about the importance for businesses around the world to become greener to save the planet from devastation.
And a few US-based companies, including Bank of America, have already backed Terra Carta’s pledge.
Another fan of Prince Harry and Meghan criticised the fact that Prince Charles’s initiative has been widely welcomed while the Duke of Sussex had been attacked following the launch of Travalyst, an eco-tourism initiative he supported in collaboration with travel giants.
They said: “Harry is woke and that’s a bad thing. He was skewered for Travalyst. Oh but let’s talk about climate change…”
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are no longer senior royals
Prince Harry and Meghan’s stance on climate change and their call for reducing the environmental footprint of each individual was criticised after they were caught flying with private jets first to Spain and then to France for holidays within just a few days.
Prince Harry said in September 2019 he usually flies commercial but he opts for private jets, the emissions of which he always offset, to protect the privacy of his family.
Other Sussexes fans ridiculed the Prince of Wales simply for the way he spoke during the interview, with one saying: “With such dispassionate speech & no dynamic in how the message is conveyed, how is the audience going to respond? Dry bone”.
Another in a stark attack to the Cambridges during which they accused Kate and Prince William to “con” Prince Charles, added: “Old Charles is just as stale as his vintage cuff links!
“Too bad he was conned by the Lamebridges into ignoring the real [stars] of the Firm, Harry and Meghan.

Prince Harry spoke in the past about how his father passed on to him and his brother Prince William the importance of looking after and protecting the environment.
The Duke of Sussex recalled being mocked by his peers for naturally picking litter off the ground after being taught to do so by his father.
Prince Harry, who has been an advocate for years for the conservation of wildlife, supported last year the launch of a free streaming platform, Waterbear, entirely focused on the environment.
