Scotland’s First Minister was seen talking to three people at a social distance but with her face uncovered during a wake. Jon Ashworth told Good Morning Britain that Ms Sturgeon has made a silly mistake and needs to lead by example in the future.
Mr Ashworth said: “It looks like a silly mistake, it looks like a mistake on her part.
“All of us in public life have got to make sure that if we are coming on programmes like this and telling people to stick to the rules that we are sticking to the rules ourselves.”
The Labour MP added: “Human beings do make mistakes, but it is really important that we all stick to the rules.
“The way we will keep everyone safe and get through this until we are vaccinated is by sticking to the rules.”

On Tuesday Scotland’s First Minister issued a statement address her mistake.
Ms Sturgeon told the BBC: “Last Friday, while attending a funeral wake, I had my mask off briefly.
“This was a stupid mistake and I’m really sorry. I talk every day about the importance of masks, so I’m not going to offer any excuses.
“I was in the wrong, I’m kicking myself, and I’m sorry.”
However, the SNP leader has received criticism for her carelessness during the wake.
A Scottish Conservative spokesman said: “The first minister should know better.
“By forgetting the rules and failing to set a proper example, she’s undermining essential public health messaging.
“There cannot be one rule for Nicola Sturgeon and another for everyone else.”
Some social media users took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the SNP leader’s Covid breach.
One said: “If you make the law, requiring millions of people to change their lives or face a fine, you need to follow the law, or resign. That’s politics.”
Another tweeted: “Just another politician who thinks the rules don’t apply to them #ResignSturgeon.”
