Tesco shares update on Clubcard points as key partnerships change – you must act fast

Tesco Clubcard is a loyalty scheme which allows shoppers to earn Clubcard points when they shop. The points can be exchanged for vouchers giving customers money off groceries, restaurants and experiences.

Things are set to change with how shoppers can spend their vouchers, Tesco has shared.

British Airways

Clubcard currently has a partnership with International Airlines Group and its Avios rewards.

While the coronavirus lockdown means booking a holiday is not a priority for most, those with the vouchers have been able to get travel discounts.

Perks include money off flights with British Airways and Aer Lingus.

The current offer means £2.50 worth of Clubcard points can be exchanged for 600 Avois vouchers.

However, the partnership will end on January 18, 2021, which means anyone hoping to take advantage must be quick.

“Clubcard is how our customers get the best value from shopping with Tesco,” a Tesco spokesperson said.

The points can be used towards NOW TV passes such as the Sky Cinema Pass, Entertainment Pass, Sky Sports Pass, Kids Pass or Hayu Pass.

From January 31, 2021, however, Tesco customers will no longer be able to do so as the partnership ends.

A statement on the Tesco website read: “Unfortunately, NOW TV will leave the Clubcard scheme on January 31, 2021.

“You will be able to exchange your Clubcard vouchers until this date and any vouchers you receive must be redeemed before the expiry date included in your latest email.”
